Richard Albert Obituary
Richard Albert, 70, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012, at his home on South Padre Island, Texas.

He was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Charles and Elsie (Yoss) Albert. He attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Lincoln High School (LHS) in 1959. In high school, Richard received many awards for his participation in band and orchestra playing tuba and bass. He also proudly pitched for the LHS baseball team. After high school, he went on to complete a bachelor's of science degree from UW-Stevens Point; and a master's degree at the University of Wisconsin.

He enjoyed both snow and water skiing. He was one of the first members of the Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers helping form the water ski club. He also enjoyed taking long walks and talking to others.

Richard worked as a planner for Dane County, living in Madison. Then he moved to Winter Park, Fla., where he operated a screen-printing business. He was a realtor for ERA Sunrise Realty and SPI in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elsie Albert; and a niece, Amanda Giese.

Richard is survived by two sisters, Wanda (John) Bauer of Auburndale and Cheryl Giese of Wisconsin Rapids; nieces and nephews, Michele Bachhuber, Heather Giese, Jon and Dotty Bauer, Troy Giese, Tara Bauer and Jeff Kitelinger, and Tami (Matt) Rollins; and grandnieces, Katelyn and Rachel Bachhuber.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
