Dora Dean Waterman, age 98, of Bancroft, WI, went home to the LORD on Tuesday, October 30th, 2012 at The Lodge of Whispering Pines, Plover, WI. She was born on January 31, 1914, a the daughter of the late Leonard and Harriet Achsah (Davis) Lipke on their farm in the Town of Deerfield, Waushara County.

She attended rural school at the Red Brick School in the Town of Deerfield and later Wautoma High School. The summer of 1930 she moved to Poynette to work in a restaurant cooking and packing lunches for the road crew who were straightening Highway 51. Dora married William Lowell (Bud) Waterman on May 18, 1932 in Hancock, WI. They farmed with his parents in the Town of Pine Grove until 1956. After selling the farm, they moved to Bancroft. Dora was employed by the Almond-Bancroft Public Schools as a cook at the Bancroft School for 19 years. She truly enjoyed the children and staff and they truly enjoyed her home made bread, delicious meals and friendly personality. She and husband Lowell enjoyed traveling and spent 10 of their retirement winters in Texas. The also visited Hawaii and Alaska and many of continental US States. Dora's real passion was for gardening. She raised a large vegetable garden until well into her nineties, and flowers inside and out all of her life. She always put family first and loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed and looked forward to Monday morning breakfast with her friends

Dora is survived by her Daughter: Lowella (Steve) Stucker, Almond, WI; Grandsons: Kiley (Annette) Stucker, Plainfield, WI; Kory (Liz) Stucker, Almond, WI; Great Granddaughters: Justine Karaba, Sierra Stucker, Michaela Stucker, Halie Stucker, Amy Dickerson and Briana Dickerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wm. Lowell Waterman, sisters, Lena Lachelt, Stella Monroe, Florence Waid, Blanche Ludkey and Thelma Voeltner, also brothers, Ernest Lipke, Lawrence Lipke and Doliver Lipke.

Funeral Services will be held at Almond United Methodist Church, Almond, at 11 AM on Monday, November 5th, 2012, with Reverend David Leistra, officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Town of Pine Grove, Portage Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 3 until 7 PM at the Almond United Methodist Church. Visitation also on Monday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Dora Waterman.

The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond is assisting the family with arrangements.

A heartfelt thanks to the Hospice team who cared for Dora, especially Linda, who visits she looked so forward to and all of the wonderful staff at the Lodge of Whispering Pines and special friends, Dixie and Patty.
