Dorretta June Egland, age 77, of 3652 Lynn Hill Road Nekoosa, died Tuesday December 11, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Nekoosa United Church of Christ. Rev Micah Schlobohm will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday and at the church on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM.
June was born May 7, 1935 in Columbus, NE to Ambrose and Mary Louise (Schutt) Hewitt. She married William Egland on June 29, 1955, they later divorced.
She was employed by Appleton Furniture, Gaynor Cranberry Company and retired from Schreiber Foods, Inc. June also owned and operated June Bug Ceramics until 2004. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, writing, poetry and gardening. June is best known for her artistic skills and donations of many items to various benefits.
June is survived by seven children, Cindy Egland of Nekoosa, Debra Egland of Appleton, Mark Egland of Eau Claire, Tim (Jody) Egland, David Egland, Penny Egland, Tom Egland all of Nekoosa; ten grandchildren Heather Bailey, Cassidy Egland, Joshua (Nicole) Egland, Jamie Egland, Tara Wolf, Walter Wolf, Todd (Melissa) Ellingson, Krystal (Don) Goffin, Tia Egland and Brandon Egland; 15 great-grandchildren, Isabella Bailey, Angelina Egland, Traeden Egland, Gabriel Egland, Nevaeh Bennett, Aliana Bennett, Piriel Smith, Griffin Wolf, Emerald Wolf, Autumn Czappa, Nadia Ellingson, Lacey Goffin, Kash Goffin, Landon Arendt and Evan Arendt.
She is further survived by her two sisters Judy (Don) Monroe of Illinois and Bonnie (Roger) Irwin of Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers Richard (Dianne) Hewitt and Robert (Millie) Hewitt both of Arizona; two sisters-in-law Joanne (Ken) Hewitt and Barbara (Tom) Hewitt both of Wisconsin Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Terry Egland, grandson Tyler Egland, great-granddaughter Savannah Bailey, four brothers William, Kenneth, James and Thomas Hewitt and her former husband William Egland.
Mom was loved very much and touched the hearts of all who knew her.
May she fly with the angels and walk in God's light forever.
