Arthur J. Utnehmer

Arthur J. Utnehmer, 77 of Plover, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday January 27, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. Arthur was born on October 18, 1935 in Antigo. Son of the late Oscar & Virginia (Schmid) Utnehmer.

He graduated from Antigo High School. He also attended Marquette University in Milwaukee.

He entered the service on June 28, 1954 in Annapolis Maryland. He served in the Navy, receiving the National Defense Service Ribbon and Expert Rifle Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 10, 1955. Arthur reenlisted on November 6, 1956 in Minneapolis Minnesota, serving in the Marines until November 5, 1959.

His marriage to Susan Maciejczak took place on July 17, 1965 at St. Jacobi Church in Milwaukee. They had 48 years together and Arthur always said she was the best thing to ever happen to him.

Arthur worked as a Sr Salesman for Consolidated Papers retiring in 2000. He enjoyed working on his side business, called Senior Moments building bird houses. He enjoyed bird hunting up north and fishing especially in Canada, enjoyed swimming in the ocean, snorkeling at Lake Owens, attending his grandsons many sporting events and granddaughters piano recitals and soccer games. He was also known to enjoy discussing politics and was not shy about his Republican views. He was a loving, generous man and always quick to give a smile and compliment. He absolutely loved life, his family, music and nature.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Utnehmer of Plover, Daughter, Julie (Bruce) Wichmann of Deforest.

Son, Charles (Miki) Utnehmer of Brookfield. 8 Grandchildren. Also survived by sons, Art Jr. (Theresa) Utnehmer of Oceanside California, Mark Utnehmer of Las Vegas Nevada. Brother, John Utnehmer of Sturgeon Bay. Sisters, Faith (Tom) Wiex of Portage and Barbara (Adrian) Leiterman of Antigo.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 2, 2013 at Divine Word Lutheran Church at 2501 Plover Springs Dr, Plover
