Jennifer Studley Obituary
Studley, Jennifer

Jennifer Leigh "Jen" Studley, 54, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 2nd at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Both her sisters were at her side.

Jen was born December 13, 1957, in Akron, Ohio, to James Edwin and Carolyn (Stoll) Studley. She grew up in Wisconsin Rapids, spending many summers at the Waupaca Chain O' Lakes campground resort owned by her family. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids, in 1976, and then from UW-Stevens Point with a Bachelor's degree in History. She married Curtis William Kowalczyk in January 1987; the couple has a son, Zachary Studley Kowalczyk.

Jen was always available to help others and was a fun and loyal friend with a keen sense of humor. She was an accomplished musician, playing both clarinet and piano. She had many other hobbies at which she was adept, including writing and reading nonfiction, studying ethics, cooking, reading, working on embroidery, needlepoint and cross stitching, doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, taking frequent nature hikes, watching birds (particularly those in the raptor or hawk family), dining in good restaurants and taking in Packer games. Jen was a long-time fan of Packer LeRoy Butler.

Her most cherished life works were as a stay-at-home mom for her son, Zach, and working in professional fund-raising, most notably for Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and the Minnesota Medical Foundation in Minneapolis. Also, long-cherished work for Jen was volunteering her time and money generously to causes she cared about, including her church, those in need, and her extended family. At the time she died, Jennifer was a volunteer for the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, Stevens Point.

Survivors in Jen's immediate family are her son, Zach Kowalczyk of Henderson, NC; sister, Susan (Peter) Wirtala of Green Bay, and sister, Margaret (Mark) Whitrock of Lenexa, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, all her aunts and uncles and several cousins.

A memorial service for Jen, led by Doug Schneider, Pastor of Outreach Ministries, Woodlands Church (Jennifer's Pastor), will be held on Saturday, March 23 at Woodlands Church in Plover (190 Hoover Avenue). Visitation with family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., the service will be at 11:00 a.m., and a lunch will follow.

Jen's interment is at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh, next to her parents and grandparents. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the "Healing Place Endowment Fund" at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
