Michael Shermo, age 54, of Springbrook, WI passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013.

Michael Kenneth Shermo was born April 29, 1958, in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Kenneth and Jane (Leland) Shermo. Michael graduated from Altoona High School in 1976 and then attended Chippewa Valley Technical College, where he received an Associate's Degree in Business. On May 27, 1978, Michael was joined in marriage to Darlene K. Noel at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. Mike began work in the Eau Claire area as a manager of Cross Roads Car Wash. He continued in this role until 1982, when he moved to Wisconsin Rapids, where he owned and operated Shammy Carwash, East and West Side Self-Service Car Washes. In 2005, he sold the car wash businesses and moved to Springbrook, WI. Mike took a position with JH Larson Company, where he managed the warehouse and served in sales up to the present. Mike enjoyed deer hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling, camping, but most importantly, spending time with his family. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayward, WI, where he served as an elder. He was devoted to Christ and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. He served as a role model to many friends and family, and will be missed by all.

Mike is survived by his wife of 34 years, Darlene; two children, Justin (Jenny) Shermo of Milladore, WI; Sarah (Dustin) Trickle of Sun Prairie, WI; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Trickle; three brothers, Randy (Cindy) Shermo of Owatonna, MN; Rick (Gail) Shermo of Altoona, WI; Brad Shermo of Chippewa Falls, WI; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A visitation for Michael will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayward, WI. A devotional service will be held at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran on Thursday. Visitation time will continue on Friday, April 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Altoona, WI. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI.

Casket bearers will be Brad, Randy and Rick Shermo, Curtis Kolpien, Jason and Ken Noel.
