David L. Olsen, age 65, of 530 Ranger Rd., Nekoosa, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Monday at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. Carl Kummer will officiate. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial services will take place Monday at Green Hill Cemetery with military rites by the Nekoosa VFW Post #5960. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ritchayfuneralhome.com.

David was born February 18, 1948 in Wisconsin Rapids to Kurt and Josephine (Molle) Olsen. He married Sharon Blossfield on September 15, 1968 in Nekoosa. David was a Viet Nam veteran serving in the US Navy from 1968-1972. He was employed by Domtar for over 30 years, retiring as a tow motor operator in the shipping dept.

David was an excellent carpenter and woodworker. He enjoyed building furniture for his grandchildren. His interests included NASCAR racing, spending time at his cottage up north in Phillips, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Olsen of Nekoosa; one son, Travis (Rebecca) Olsen of Nekoosa; 2 grandchildren, Hoyt and Grace; mother in-law, Dolly Blossfield of Nekoosa; sister in-law, Rosanne (Dale) Koeshall; 2 brothers in-law, Todd and Bill Blossfield; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Craig and Jack, one sister, Joyce Rowe, father in-law, Raymond Blossfield, 2 brothers in-law, Jim and Rob Blossfield, and nephew, Shawn Koeshall.
