Elaine Whitrock Obituary
Whitrock, Elaine

Elaine Edith Whitrock, 75 passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 surrounded by family at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Elaine was born to Leslie and Bernice Witte of Wisconsin Rapids on August 14, 1937. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Lincoln High School from which she graduated in 1955.

On April 7, 1956 Elaine was united in marriage to Bill Darrell Whitrock at Immanuel Lutheran Church Wisconsin Rapids. Together they raised two daughters, Tracy Ann and Patricia Sue.

Elaine was employed by Faye's Publishing, C.W. Transport, and Shopko. For many years she also enjoyed providing before-school and after-school care for several young children in the Kellner area.

As an avid reader, Elaine loved her Kindle and iPad. She also had a joy for quilting crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and card games. She shared a passion for nature with her husband Bill, as they spent many hours watching and photographing the deer and hummingbirds in their backyard. Elaine's greatest love was spending time with her six grandchildren, who will forever miss her "free hugs" and endless supply of candy, particularly "Tootsie Rolls" which is their favorite!

Elaine is survived by her husband Bill, daughters Tracy Eklund (Manawa), Patricia Mews (Marshfield) and grandchildren Elliot, Spencer, and Isaac Eklund (Manawa), Zachariah, Erin and Amy Mews (Marshfield).

She is preceded in death by parents Leslie and Bernice Witte, brother Melvin Witte, and sister Delores Walrath.

Services for Elaine Edith Whitrock will be held on Friday, July 19th at St John Lutheran Church of Kellner, Reverend Kevin Ader officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 - 11:00 am with Memorial Service to follow. Burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Parish Cemetery following the service.
