Max F. Hoppe, age 81, of 430 20th Avenue South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Monday, August 26, 2013 at his home.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Thursday, August 29, 2013 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. James Douglas will officiate. Visitation will be at St. Paul's Church on Thursday from 9:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park at a later date.

Max was born April 15, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Fritz and Meta (Brischke) Hoppe. He married Nancy R. Piper on May 12, 1956. Max was a machinist at Diversy Co. from 1952-1958. He then moved to Wisconsin Rapids where he was a machinist at Consolidated Papers Inc. at both the Biron Division and the Kraft Division. Max retired from the Kraft Division in 1991 as a maintenance supervisor.

Max enjoyed bowling, especially in the Mixed Couples League and loved golf, where he was a member at the Ridges and later at Bull's Eye Country Club. Max always loved his time with his family especially his grandchildren. Max was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Max is survived by his wife, Nancy; two children, Jody (Dwight) Vargas of Monona, WI and Kurt (Sue) Hoppe of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and four grandchildren, Emily (Fiancé-Trevor Voice) Vargas of Madison, WI, Phil (Bernie) Vargas of Bourbonnais, IL, Elizabeth (Andrew) Nemeth of Waukegan, IL and Willie (Fiancé- Andrea Valachovic) Hoppe of South Korea.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be designated to the St. Paul's Mortgage Fund.
