Jane Holt Benney, of Loveland, passed away July 29, 2014 in Madeira, Ohio.
She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Benney, whom she married May 3, 1941, in Cincinnati, where she was born in 1919.
They raised five children in Loveland, Richard, Jane Ann, Gayle, Steve, and Diane.
Jane worked most of her life as a school teacher with Loveland City Schools. After she retired, Clarence and Jane bought a farm near the spillway of Cowan Lake, outside of Clarksville, and turned the old farm house into a very successful restaurant, The Spillway Lodge.
Jane is survived by her children, Richard Benney, Jane Ann Robinson, Gayle Dawahare, Steven Benney, and Diane Coale; her seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4 at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 129 N. Riverside Ave., Loveland, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery.
