Wayne A. "Bucky" Scott, 67, of Wilmington, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 10, 2014 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.

He was born May 14, 1946 in Wilmington, a son of the late Chacy and Elva Ward Scott Sr.

A 1965 graduate of Wilmington High School, Bucky worked as a foreman/supervisor for Irwin Auger Bit Company for more than 35 years, retiring in 2005.

A Vietnam War-era veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Wilmington. He served on the Clinton County Veteran's Service Commission as a board member, and was appointed to multiple positions as a proud member of the VFW Post 6710. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #49.

Surviving are his wife, Gustelia Harden Scott of Wilmington; children, Shawn (Chantelle) Logan of Calif., Toyia Scott of Wilmington, Dimetrius Scott-Harris of Wilmington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Johnny Scott of Wilmington, Chacy Scott Jr. of Wilmington, Imogene (James) Smith of Jeffersonville, Maxine (Harry) Gilham of Newark, Gary Scott of Wilmington, Thomas (Sandra) Scott of Columbus; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Mary Campbell, Lawrence Curtis and Stephen Harris.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Allen Scott Jr.; brother, Farrel Scott; and sister, Judith Ann Warner.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 225 Randolph St., Wilmington, with Rev. Byron W. McGee officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. The Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will accord full military honors. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
