Nancy Mae Griffith, 87, of Wilmington, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley M. Griffith, who died Sept. 3, 1991. They were married Oct. 8, 1946.
Griffith was born May 12, 1926 in Ewing, Fleming County, Ky., a daughter of the late Charles and Katherine Pyles Getz.
She graduated from Blanchester High School in 1944. She was a member of the Church of Christ (Christian) in Wilmington. She was involved with 4-H as an advisor, and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, being a den mother and leader for many years. Griffith was retired from Ledex Inc. and spent most of her life as a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, C. Gene (Patty) Griffith of Wilmington; two daughters, Kathy L. Stults and special friend, Donny Boerstler of Wilmington and Mary Ann (Robert) Fisher of Wilmington; six grandsons, Lance (Lisa) Stults of Washington Court House, Eric (Jessica) Stults of Mt. Orab, Brian (Amber) Stults of Arlington, Texas, Adam (Lindsay) Fisher of Lewis Center, Milton Fisher of Wilmington, Jason Fisher of Wilmington; a granddaughter, Cynthia (Donald) Rack of Wilmington; seven great grandchildren, Christian Stults, Luke Stults, Avery Stults, Cooper Rack, Mason Rack, Alexis Fisher, and Brynn Fisher; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Vaughn Reynolds of Wilmington, Daisy and Eugene Allen of Collinsville, Ill., Reva and John Dehan of Overland Park, Kan., Ruth and John Arvai of Wilmington, and Linda and David Wilkin of Wilmington; brother, Alan Getz of Hillsboro; brother-in-law, Raymond (Josephine) Griffith of Milford; and a sister-in-law, Laura Speelman of Hillsboro. She was also an aunt, a great-aunt, and a great-great aunt to several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Maxine (Pratt) Getz; a brother, Donald Getz; a sister-in-law; Guylene Getz; and a brother-in-law, Charles Speelman, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with Randy Riley officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
