Chester C. Garman, 96, of Xenia, formerly of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 6, 2014.
His wife, Lenora Barker Garman, survives. His first wife, Ruth Garman, preceded him in death in 1988.
Mr. Garman was born Jan. 15, 1918 in Adams County, a son of the late Charles and Mary Cline Garman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Garman retired from NCR in Dayton.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Garman is survived by five sons, Bob Garman, Richard Garman, Charles (Karen) Garman, Denny Garman and Lester (Robin) Garman; a sister, Ruby Shoemaker; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife and parents, several brothers and sisters are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be noon, Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington. Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
