Earl A. Reed Jr., 84, of Oregonia, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital.

A Marines Korean Conflict veteran, Earl retired from AK Steel in Middletown in 1972 after 43 years of service. During his lifetime, he coached pee wee football, little league baseball, and NRA junior rifle. He was a lifetime Masters Rifleman, member of Friends of the Library, and a volunteer for the Pioneer Village. Earl enjoyed watching Animal Planet, spending time with his family and his granddog, Trooper.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and his daughter, Donna Jean Reed Belec.

He is survived by three sons, Robert E. "Rick" Reed of Phoenix, Ariz.; Philip E. Reed of Dewey, Ariz., and David A. (Teresa) Reed of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 31, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Pastor Tom Chattin will be officiating. Burial will be at Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
