John E. "Jack" Marker Jr., 80, of Bowersville, passed from this life on Saturday morning, March 29, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Cincinnati on Feb. 14, 1934, a son of John and Sudie Belle Calvert Marker Sr. John was preceded in death by his wife, Myra, who preceded him on March 26, 2013.
Mr. Marker served in the army and retired from the RR Donnelley Company. In retirement, he worked at the Wilmington Walmart in maintenance. A very active and faithful member of the Sabina Church of Christ in Christian Union, he loved to sing, work puzzles, bowl and listen to the Reds on radio. He also appreciated Gospel music.
He is survived by his children, Marcia Marker of Bowersville, Theresa (Jim) Hawkins of Jamestown, Kim Cruz of Chillicothe, Dewayne (Debbie) Marker of Washington Court House and Daryl Marker of Sabina; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Geraldine (Bob) Bowman of Goshen and Gene (Vera) Marker of Cincinnati.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, a sister, two brothers and a son-in-law.
The funeral service will be on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sabina Church of Christ in Christian Union. Friends may call at the church from noon until the 2 p.m. time of the service. The burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville.
