Joseph E. Kratzer, 55, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.
Joe was born Aug. 5, 1959 in Wilmington to Dale and Dorothea Hibbs Kratzer.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Susan L. Miller Kratzer; mother; brothers, Michael (Charlotte) and Steve; sister, Andrea (Frank) Tacoronte; and Aunt Marty (Hibbs).
Joe was a 1977 graduate of Blanchester High School, and a graduate of Ohio Northern University, a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi.
He was the owner of Johnstone Supply Dayton/Maumee and a member of Dayton Cycling Club, Team Dayton Cycling and Walnut Grove Country Club.
Joe was given a 25 year gift of life, a kidney transplant, from his sister, Andrea. Joe took every opportunity to seek out new people and new experiences, keeping his friends for life. He loved cycling, fishing, his family and friends, and everyone wanted invitations for his fabulous cooking.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10 at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Westboro, with Pastor Donald Payne officiating.
