Debra Leary Obituary

Debbie Leary, age 59, died on August 26th after a year-long struggle with pancreatic cancer. She remained active throughout her ordeal, with the help of friends and family, as well as local health professionals who worked tirelessly to help her through the process.

Debbie was a graduate of The College of Wooster (1976) and she also received Masters Degrees from The University of Michigan (MBA) and DePaul University (M.S - Taxation). After working with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago, she began a career as a tax officer for companies that included Marriott Corporation, Watson Wyatt & Company, ABB Lummus Global, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, W-H Energy Services, and KBR.

Debbie was a long-term member of the AICPA, The Ohio Society of CPAs, and The Tax Executives Institute. She was a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church and was actively involved with her daughter's school, The John Cooper School in the Woodlands, as well as The Club at Carlton Woods.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Mary Foulds of the The Woodlands, her husband of 35 years, Bill, her daughter, Amanda, who is attending Washington University in St. Louis, and her brother Robert Foulds, an attorney in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

Notes of condolence can be shared with the family at [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Debbie's name to the American Diabetes Association, an organization that both Debbie and Amanda actively supported.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the future.
