Bowman SHEREVPORT, La.--June Simmers Bowman, age 81, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013, at LSU Health Center in Sherevport. She was born on April 19, 1931, in Broadway, Va., to the late Joseph and Ada Virginia Holsinger Simmerers. June married Henry Bowman on Dec. 22, 1945, in Lancaster, Md. They were happily married for 64 years. June was a member of the Baptist Church in Bristol, Tenn., and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville, La. June was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Galen Bowman; sisters, Marie, Catherine; and brothers, Harold, Tommy and Howard. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Galen Lee Bowman of Pulaski, va., and Rickey Allen and Rita Bowman of Max Meadows, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Kitty Sue Waller of Statesville, N.C., Barbara and Albert Wolfe of Bland, Va., and Lorretta Bowman; and special friend, John Weaver of Louisania; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral service will be Saturday March 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Grubb Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until service time. A committal service and entombment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Tri-City Memorial Gardens in Blountville, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to or to .
