Goodman Mary Magdalene Goodman, 74, died on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, in Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. She was born in Grayson County on Feb. 25, 1938, to the late Bryan and Dwade Coe Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Larry Greer, Frederick Greer and Toby Greer, and one brother, Bobby Howell. Survivors include her husband, Randall E. Goodman; two sons, Dennis Greer and wife, Barbara, of Marion and Rick Greer of Marion; one daughter, Robin Finley, of Marion; three brothers, Dean Howell of Wyoming, Dwayne Howell of Atkins, and Charles Howell of Chilhowie; two sisters, Dessie Sadler of Chilhowie and Charlotte Felts of Galax; six grandchildren, Amanda Wallace and husband, Paul, of Knoxville, Tenn., Jamie Greer of Marion, Jason Greer and wife, Tara, of Marion, Larissa Sutherland and husband, Ryan, of Independence, Kendra Greer of Abingdon, Jessie Finley of Ft. Campbell, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, Wallace and Aaliyah Wallace; two stepchildren and step-grandchildren; and several niece and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Mike Halsey and the Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
