Audrey S. Clyburn Audrey Faye Shupe Clyburn, 81, of Elk Creek died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Carrington Place at Wytheville. Funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Fries Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Rick Watson, the Rev. Tony Vaughan and Janet Watson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Grayson County, daughter of the late Hurbert and Nora White Shupe. She was known for her devotion to her family, her friends and her God. She was a faithful member of the Fries Church of God of Prophecy for most of her adult life. She will be remembered for the many moments of happiness she brought into the lives of those who knew her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edward Clyburn Sr.; and three brothers, Arvin Shupe, her twin Aubrey Shupe and Odell Shupe. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa Dawn Clyburn of the home, and Becky and Greg Martin of Fries; a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Kelly Clyburn of Wytheville; a brother, John Phipps Shupe of Stokesdale, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Clara Shupe of Galax, Kinnie Shupe of Fries and Brenda Shupe of Madison, N.C.; three grandchildren, Dakota Martin, Emily Martin and Samuel Martin, all of Fries; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
