Barbara D. DeBord Barbara Jean Dean DeBord, 67, of Rural Retreat died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at her residence. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rick Becker officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. She was born May 26, 1943, in West Virginia, daughter of the late William Leon and Martha Emaline Childress Dean. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wayne DeBord; and a sister, Mary Alice Olinger. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ricky Pickle of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Debbie DeBord, Robbie and Diana DeBord, all of Rural Retreat, and Shane Alexander DeBord of the home; five grandchildren, Nikki Scott and husband, Ted, Britney Pickle, Tristi DeBord, Emily DeBord and Jacob DeBord; one great-grandchild, Amiha DeBord; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Henderson and husband, Claude, of Emory, and Dorothy Hogston and husband, Roger, of Abingdon; a brother, Sammy Dean of Sterling, Ill.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Vickie DeBord of Rural Retreat; and special friends, Heidi and Chris Robertson, Carrie Courtney, Corinne Stoots and Justin Stoots. The family suggests that memorial donations be made toward medical expenses or the American Cancer Society. Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat is in charge of the arrangements.
