Doreen M. Johnston Dr. Doreen M. Johnston, 37, of Wytheville, formerly of Holbrook, N.Y., died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010. Interment was held Saturday, Oct. 9, at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y. She was born Dec. 14, 1972, in Smithtown, N.Y., and was a graduate of Sachem High School in Ronkonkoma, N.Y. She completed her undergraduate at State University of New York, Stony Brook and completed her master's and doctorate degrees in psychology at Florida Institute of Technology. She was practicing at Southwest Virginia Mental Health Institute in Marion. She attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Holbrook, N.Y., and St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wytheville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Nally. Survivors include beloved husband, Jack B. Johnston of Wytheville; father, John F. Nally; a brother, John F. Nally Jr.; two loving nieces and nephews; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws that will miss her very much. A research fund in her name has been establisher at First Century Bank, P.O. Box 897, Wytheville, VA 24382. All contributions will go specifically to research the rare genetic cancer known as small cell neuro-endocrine. Moloney's Bohemia Funeral Home in Bohemia, N.Y., was in charge of the arrangements.
