Elizabeth Virginia Goodwin Buskell On Saturday morning, October 9, 2010, the Lord, Jesus Christ, gently took the hand of Elizabeth Virginia Goodwin Buskell and led her quietly through Heaven's gates into eternity. Elizabeth, age 91, was born January 11, 1919 in Cumberland Gap, KY, to the late Charles Arnold (Jake) Goodwin and Ida Elizabeth Brooks Goodwin. She was a descendent of the historic Goodwin brothers who established the Clinch Valley Woolen Mill in the early 1900's. Elizabeth grew up in Cedar Bluff, VA, living her entire life in the Cedar Bluff and Richlands, VA area. Welcoming Elizabeth's healed body into a Heavenly home in addition to her parents, were her loving husband of 68 years, H. Paul Buskell, who preceded her in 2004; her two brothers, Robin Eugene Goodwin and Charles Arnold Goodwin; and son-in-law, Barry Allen Bandy. Elizabeth's family was the center of her life. She provided spiritual guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love and acceptance to her family and friends. Her example of positive living was a blessing to all those who knew her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Hugh Cooke of Cedar Bluff, VA; daughter, Paula Bandy of Cedar Bluff, VA; three cherished grandchildren and their spouses: H. Shannon Cooke and Carlene Elswick of Claypool Hill, VA; Trevor and Heather Cooke of Leesburg, VA; and Barri and Trenton Gregory of Glade Spring, VA. She is also survived by her dear sister Katherine Griffith of Centerburg, Ohio, and her faithful friend, Darrell Addison. Elizabeth previously attended and was faithful in the Richlands First Christian Church "Disciples of Christ" and presently was an active member of the Richlands Presbyterian Church as long as her health would allow. She was a devoted Christian and was known as a gifted Sunday School teacher. She was a partner with her husband in numerous business ventures. The family received friends Mon., Oct. 11, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Greenhills Mausoleum prior to the graveside services at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenhills Memory Gardens where the service was conducted by Rev.
