Estellia F. Saunders Estellia Elizabeth Ferguson Saunders, 95, of Rocky Gap died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, W.Va. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 11, at noon at the Greater Zion Pentecostal Church, 104 Park Avenue in Bluefield, W.Va. Interment will be in Hogan's Cemetery at Rocky Gap. She was a member of Tynes Chapel A.M.E. Church of Rocky Gap where she served in many capacities, including the senior choir, past president of the missionary society, deaconess and mother of the church for many years. She also attended the East Tennessee and Virginia Conferences along with her husband working in many capacities. She will be greatly missed by her family, church family and her community. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was loved by everyone that knew her. She would go the extra mile for her family and loved ones. She lived a very prosperous and fruitful life. She was preceded in death by her parents, McDaniel and Cornelia Ferguson; husband, the Rev. Fred J. Saunders; four sisters; and five brothers. Survivors include the Rev. Powell "Jewelle" Saunders, Minnie Deloris Harris and Christine E. McClanahan; a brother who is the last surviving sibling; two sisters-in-law, Doretha Ferguson and Freda Schruggs; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon (service time) at the church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Granddaughters will serve as flower bearers. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
