Freddie L. Gilbert

Freddie L. Gilbert Freddie Lee Gilbert, 57, of Wytheville died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010. Funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel. Interment was in West End Cemetery. He was born Sept. 23, 1953, in Wytheville, son of the late Samuel L. Gilbert and the late Lorene Hancock Garner. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Gilbert; and stepfather, Hilmer Garner. Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, G. Delphia Taylor of Milton, Del., and Sheron G. and Harry Nester of Dublin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Dean Gilbert of Wytheville, and Samuel "Whitey" and Linda Gilbert of Hopewell; and his girlfriend and the love of his life, Teresa McFarland of Wytheville. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
