Garland Vaught Catron

Garland V. Catron Garland Vaught Catron, 92, of Crockett died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010. A graveside service of remembrance was held Sunday, Sept. 12, at King's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. RuthAnne Henley officiating. He was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Wythe County, son of the late Albert Valentine and Nannie Daugherty Catron. He was a member of King's Grove United Methodist Church where he was Sunday school superintendent for 36 years. He was a retired farmer in the Crockett community. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert E. Catron; and a sister, Ruth C. Moore. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mabel C. Catron of Wytheville; two sisters, Hazel Catron Williams of Wytheville and Erma Catron Robins of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews. Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat was in charge of the arrangements.
