Garland V. Catron Garland Vaught Catron, 92, of Crockett died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010. A graveside service of remembrance was held Sunday, Sept. 12, at King's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. RuthAnne Henley officiating. He was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Wythe County, son of the late Albert Valentine and Nannie Daugherty Catron. He was a member of King's Grove United Methodist Church where he was Sunday school superintendent for 36 years. He was a retired farmer in the Crockett community. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert E. Catron; and a sister, Ruth C. Moore. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mabel C. Catron of Wytheville; two sisters, Hazel Catron Williams of Wytheville and Erma Catron Robins of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to King's Grove Cemetery Endowment Inc., c/o Clyde Copenhaver, 2202 Crockett Road, Crockett, VA 24323. Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat was in charge of the arrangements.

Garland was a very Godly man,I preached to him many services at Evansham Manor.My heart is breaking But a smile comes to my face because i know he is in heaven with our lord Jesus Christ.God Bless his soul!!!! Rev.Michael Hoback
