James R. Levitt

James R. Levitt James "Roy" Levitt, 83, of Bastian died on Dec. 25, 2010, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, with the Rev. Ronnie Hager officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Valley Methodist Church Cemetery, Grapefield Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Born Oct. 14, 1927, in Bland County, he was the son of the late Robert and Clara Kidd Levitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Clark, and a brother, Charlie Levitt. He retired from Bland County Public Schools after 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Paige Heileman Levitt; son, Stephen Levitt; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jim Pruett; grandsons, Bradley Pruett and Tyler Pruett, all of Bastian. Highland Bland Funeral Chapel in Bland is handling the arrangements.
