John Martin Obituary

John E. Martin Jr. John Edgar Martin Jr., 77, of Radford died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010. Crypt side services were held Monday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin with the Rev. Wayne Poston officiating. Members of Henry Clay Masonic Lodge 280 A.F. & A.M. conducted graveside rites. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and a retired truck driver. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Henry Clay Masonic Lodge 280 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edgar Sr. and Noblin Brooks Martin. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Georgia Y. Martin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Robert Ratcliffe, and Sharon and Steve Radonich; four sons and daughters-in-law, John and Kathy Martin, Randy and Trish Martin, Dale Martin, and Billy and Kathy Martin; a sister, Betty Henry; grandchildren, Steven and Brian Radonich, James, Jeffrey, Josh and Jessica Martin, Kimberly Musher, Eric Martin, Stephany Ratcliffe, Brandy Boyd and Hannah Martin; and great-grandchildren, Cody and Madison (unborn) Musher, Troy and Cierra Martin, and Sean Martin (unborn). Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Mullins Funeral Home in Radford was in charge of the arrangements.

Georgia,
I was shocked to hear about John. I always enjoyed any time I got to spend with him. We met through my parents, Don and Marion, when you hosted at the state park. We always got around to discussing Amateur radio. John will be missed and you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Georgia, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am. John was my buddy at the lake. We would always joke around with each other. We will never forget comming over to your house for the Christmas party. John was one of the first people I met when I came to work at Claytor Lake in 2003. He became a close friend over the next seven years. Thanks for being a good friend and always being willing to help out. John was a good man and will be missed greatly. Georgia, we love you!
