Joseph A. Romano Joseph Anthony Romano, 91, of Bland died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wytheville with Father Steve Antes. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery at Princeton, W.Va. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a U.S. Army Corps veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Adeline Talarico Romano; a daughter, Sharon Romano Meadows; and his wife, Hila Joyce Janutolo Romano. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Bridget and Mark Sarver of Bland; three sons and daughters-in-law, Vince and Denise Romano of Bland, Tim and Sharon Romano of Bland, and Kevin and Charlene Romano of Winchester; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Judy Kiser of Dublin, and Emma and Kenneth Doughton of Christiansburg; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Patrick Romano of Bluefield, and Frank and Shirley Romano of Roanoke; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 370 E. Main St., Wytheville, VA 24382. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
