Smith Kenneth G. Smith, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at his home in Clover, S.C. He was raised by his grandparents, Dale and Wiley Kirk of Smyth Co. He was a carpenter and millwright; he also did rodeo work and worked with horses for many years, and was a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during peacetime serving in Border Patrol between East and West Germany. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Osborne Smith of Clover, S.C.; son, Tim Smith and wife, Josephine, of Smyrna, S.C.; two daughters, Connie Little and husband, Earl, of North Tazewell and Linda Rosenbaum and Alfred of Wytheville; brother-in-law, Jim Osborne of Clover, S.C.; two special grandsons, Bradley Ross of Wytheville and Chris Ross of Clover, S.C.; and many friends. The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Totherow officiating. The family received friends on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Faith Baptist Church in Clover from 1 until 2 p.m. Burial was at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chilhowie, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 825 N Main Street, Clover, SC 29710.
