Lula Mildred Ogle Allen

Lula O. Allen Lula Mildred Ogle Allen, 82, of Max Meadows died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Fort Chiswell Church of God with the Revs. Kenneth Quesenberry and Travis Shannon officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Carroll County. She was born Aug. 9, 1928, daughter of the late Elbert and Lula Sumner Ogle and youngest of eight children who preceded her in death. She was a lifelong resident of Wythe County. She married Howard T. Allen on Dec. 28, 1952, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas Allen and Janice of Elliston, Lee Allen of Max Meadows and Dennis Ray Allen of Austinville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Shannon and Joe of Denton, N.C., Joyce Wooldridge and Ron of Oxford, Miss.; grandchildren, Shane Allen, Tonya Shannon, Travis Shannon, Susan Allen, Jessica Wooldridge, Ronald Wooldridge, Allison Allen and Marshall Wooldridge; great-grandchildren, Bayleigh Allen, Sophie Shannon and Xander Moses; and several nieces and nephews. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville is in charge of the arrangements.
