Margaret Minnick Lawson

MARGARET MINNICK LAWSON JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA-Margaret Minnick Lawson, 96, passed away October 7, 2010. She was the daughter of Sallie Tussing and Len Minnick and born the sixth of 12 children. She was born in Timberville, VA and raised in New Market, VA. After moving to Washington, D.C., she met her husband Lonnie Lee Lawson. They moved their family to Jacksonville in 1953. Margaret was predeceased by: her husband; son, Gary Lee; and all her siblings except Catherine M. Weeks, who lives in Floyd, VA. She is also survived by: a daughter, Linda Sechrest; daughter-in-law, Trish Lawson; granddaughters, Lori Anne Lawson of Fargo, ND and Lee Ann Mallari of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Lonnie J. Lawson (Jen) of Jupiter, FL; and great-grandchildren: Caitlin, Cameron, and newborn Isla Jade. Also embracing her memory are several nieces and nephews and a dear family friend, Anne Yopp. A memorial service was held November 6, 2010 in Jacksonville, FL, and a graveside service will be held in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Floyd VA., November 13, 2010 at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Stanley Hawkins officiating. We love you Granny. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice.
