Kell Martha Sue Kell, 79, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at Smyth County Community Hospital. She was born in Smyth County to the late William Blaine Pierce and Sarah Lucille Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Leonard, Edith Null, Helen Hutton, Wilma Myers, Joan Pierce, and Sandra Pierce; and brother, William Blaine Pierce Jr. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a nana to many children. Survivors include her husband, Jack Kell of Marion; sons, Gary Kell and wife, Melissa, and Donnie Kell and wife, Darlene, all of Marion; daughter, Margaret Bridgeman of Marion; stepdaughters, Norma Moses, Rosemarie Osborne, Wanda Crewey, and Barbara Sword, all of Marion; sisters, Betty Cline, Carol Hough, Brenda Griffey, and Margaret Wyatt, all of Marion; grandchildren, Angela Cassell, Susan Castemeda, Dean Kell, Timothy Kell, Aaron Kell, Hannah Kell, and Dillon Kell; great-grandchildren, Guillermo Cortez, Samuel Cassell, Zachery Kell, and Zoey Kell; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Round Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Sage officiating. The family received friends Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 7669, Atlanta, GA 30357-0669. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion was in charge of arrangements.
