Eversole Owen Gleaves Eversole, age 84, of Max Meadows, Va., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. He was born on Feb. 26, 1928, in Wythe County, the son of the late Dallas G. and Hallie B. Eversole. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Eversole; and brothers, Randolph Eversole and Dewey Eversole. Owen was well known in several counties with over 50 years of experience in well drilling and was a member of Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church. Family was very important to him; he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Jones Eversole; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Albert Miller of Greencastle, Pa., Dinah and Kent Lewis of Max Meadows, Linda and Steve Stoots of Max Meadows; five granddaughters and spouses, Chasity Lewis of Max Meadows, Nicole Stoots of Max Meadows, Carrie and Mathew Shaver of Wytheville, Va., Jennifer and Chris Smith of Mercersburg, Pa., and Meagan Stoots of Max Meadows; three grandsons and spouses, Chad and Melanie Lewis of Wytheville, Andrew and Melissa Miller of Virginia Beach, Va., David and Dr. Jennifer Miller of Baltimore; six great-grandchildren, Kelsi Lewis, Gracie Lewis, Caleb Lewis, Presley Lewis, Aiden Miller and Jonah Stoots; three sisters and spouses, Lois and Walt Whisman of Ovilla, Texas, Irene and Jack Mobellini of Max Meadows, Carolyn and Joe Arnold of Houston; brother and spouse, the Rev. Willard and Earline Eversole of Max Meadows; special sisters-in-law, Donna Eversole and Barbara Eversole; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Mike Ingo and the Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. The family received friends Friday from 6 p.m. until service time at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Missions at Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5662 East Lee Hwy., Max Meadows, VA 24360.
