Ozella Stoots

Ozella C. Stoots Ozella Gay Copenhaver Stoots, 91, of Austinville died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Austinville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastors Garland "Sam" Shelton Jr., John Jenkins and Gary Cope officiating. Interment will be in West End Cemetery. She was born March 5, 1919, in Wythe County, daughter of the late Garland Forest and Neta Phelps Copenhaver. She was a member of the Austinville Pentecostal Holiness Church and a former employee of Greenlawn Classics. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Donald Stoots; two sisters, Elizabeth Poff and Miriam King; and a brother, Garland F. Copenhaver Jr. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Larry Scott of Austinville; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward G. and Nyoka Stoots of Max Meadows; five grandchildren and their spouses, Pamela and Allen Crummett, Julie and Dennis Brown, all of Max Meadows, Amy and Jose Malave of Rota, Spain, Shelly and Dean Whitaker of Boones Mill, Kenneth and Danah Stoots of Max Meadows; nine great-grandchildren, Joshua, Emily, Autumn, Isaac, Luis, Karlee, Graham, Evan and Lillian; and a sister, Izella Smith of Wytheville. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home in Austinville or anytime at the residence. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville is in charge of the arrangements.
