Pearlie Brooks Lane

Lane Pearlie Brooks Lane, 84, of Flatridge died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon. She was the widow of J.C. Lane. She was born on Jan. 26, 1926, at Troutdale in the Comers Creek community to Glen and Gladys Anderson Brooks. Survivors include one son and spouse, Bobby and Sally Lane of Abingdon; two grandchildren and spouses, Matthew and April Lane of Abingdon and Lori and Paul Halsey of Mouth of Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Jonas, Marisa and Jackson; one step-granddaughter and spouse, Olivia and Chris Taylor of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Virginia McClanahan of Marion; five brothers and spouses, Blaine and Carolyn Brooks and Rex and Kay Brooks, all of Sugar Grove, Garland Brooks and David and Ruby Brooks, all of Chilhowie, and Jack and Joyce Brooks of Damascus; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, in Baptist Union Cemetery, Flatridge, with the Rev. Tim Boyette, the Rev. Douglas Halsey and the Rev. Roger Boyer Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, was in charge of arrangements.
