Phyllis McGhee

McGhee Phyllis Jane McGhee, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. She was born January 9, 1931 in Chilhowie to the late William and Virginia Blackwell Campbell. She worked at District Three for 14 years, a job she dearly loved and enjoyed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. McGhee Jr. Survivors include her son, Paul Greg McGhee and wife, Dora Lynn; and two granddaughters, Brianne and Shania McGhee, all of Marion. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Beck and the Rev. Donna Hankla officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Marion. Family received friends Monday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to District Three Senior Services, 4453 Lee Highway, Marion, VA 24354.
