Ramona Aker Groseclose

Ramona A. Groseclose Margie Ramona Aker Groseclose, 88, of Wytheville, the Piney community, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010. Funeral service was held Friday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jeff Callahan and J.C. McPeak officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. She was born Feb. 28, 1922, in Wythe County, daughter of the late Lee and Bertha Bralley Aker. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Ballard Groseclose Jr. of the Piney community; a son and daughter-in-law, Stevie and Teresa Groseclose of the Piney community; a granddaughter and spouse, Misty and Mike Shipwash; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Williams and Caleb Shipwash; a sister, Mary Billings of the Piney community; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
