Robert Cleveland Elder

Robert Cleveland Elder Mr. Robert Cleveland Elder, age 80, of Tampa, FL, passed away Wed., Nov. 24, 2010, in a Tampa hospital, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Hiddenite, NC, and was the son of the late Fletcher and Jessie Mitchell Elder of Hiddnenite, NC. He was employed for the past 16 years by Gray's Homes of Tampa Bay, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Elder; one son, Michael Elder; one granddaughter, Angela Nicole Elder; one sister, Hazel Elder; and two brothers, Chaunce and Marse Elder. Survivors are: daughters: Patricia Horton and husband, Rocky, of Raven, VA, Robbie Lisenbe of Tampa, FL, Barbara Ann Davis of North Carolina, Pam Wiles of North Carolina; sons: Bobby Elder of Richlands, VA, Danny Elder of Raven, VA, Roger Dale Campbell of NC; sister: Martha Burrell of Hiddenite, NC; three "Daughters of the Heart": Nellie Maynard of Raven, VA, Tammy Street of Raven, VA, and Margie Dye of Richlands, VA; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives also survive. Memorial services for Robert Cleveland Elder were conducted Sun., Dec. 5, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Carson's Chapel Methodist Church in Hiddenite, NC.
