Ruby Irene Jones

Jones Ruby Irene Jones, 93, died on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at her home in Marion. She was born in Seven Mile Ford to the late William Victor and Emma Elizabeth Carrico Gross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Jones; three brothers, Joseph Vance Gross, Mack Moore Gross and Stephen Boyd Gross; and two sisters, Virginia Ruth Evans and Flora Kay Robinson. She had retired from Francis Marion Manor and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include one son, Ronny Jones and wife, Mary Alice, of Marion; one daughter, Stella Adams of Marion; one sister, Stella Margaret Havens Johnson of Rural Retreat; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Gross and Sylvia Gross Gilley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, from Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Dr. John Diorio and the Rev. Monroe Landers officiating. Interment followed in Walker's Creek Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
