Shelby Jean Fletcher Shelby Jean Fletcher, age 67 of Richlands, VA, passed away Fri., Oct. 22, 2010 at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Pilgrim, KY, and was the daughter of the late Trinel and Dolly Fannin Simpkins. She was a former Nurse's Aide in the ICU Unit of Mattie Williams Hospital. She had lived in the Richlands area for the last 36 years and had frequently attended the Richlands Tabernacle Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Simpkins. Those who survive her are her loving husband, James Russell Fletcher of Richlands, VA; her sons, Kyle Fletcher and wife April of Norton, VA, William Alan Fletcher of Richlands, VA; sister, Sylvia Simpkins of Ulysses, KY; brothers, Clifford Simpkins of Ulysses, KY, Arthur Simpkins of Pilgrim, KY, Trinel Simpkins, Jr., of Louisa, KY; her darling grandson, Steven Eric Fletcher of Richlands, VA. Funeral services for Shelby Fletcher were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Mon., Oct. 25, 2010 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA, with the Rev. Phillip Horton officiating. Interment followed at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, VA. Friends and family served as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, 230 Charwood Drive, Abingdon, VA 24210. Friends called Sun. evening from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
