Trula Belle Jackson Lockhart Mrs. Trula Belle Jackson Lockhart, age 87, of Cedar Bluff, VA, passed away Thurs., Oct. 14, 2010 in a Bristol, TN, hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Russell County and was the daughter of the late William Eli and Ocie Tatum Jackson. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a former private duty nurse for many years. She was a member of the Community Heights Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Thomas Lockhart; one son, David Lockhart; and two sisters, Virgie Stilwell and Hazel Crosby. Survivors are: Four daughters: Deanna Jackson and husband, Norman, of Richlands, VA, Linda Shortt and husband, Donald, of Cedar Bluff, VA, Gincy Stezar of Silver Spring, MD, Angela Boyda and husband, Thomas, of Abingdon, VA; three sons: James Lockhart and wife, Debra, of Richlands, VA, John Lockhart and wife, Kim, of Pikeville, KY, Michael Lockhart and wife, Dana, of Pounding Mill, VA; 18 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Trula Lockhart was conducted Sat., Oct. 16, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA, with the Rev. Allen Jessee officiating. Interment followed at the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Friends called after 6:00 p.m. Fri. evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to: Community Heights Baptist Church, 160 Steelsburg Highway, Cedar Bluff, Virginia 24609 or to Team Kelly, P.O. Box 276, Tazewell, Virginia 24651.
