SPRINGFIELD William "Bill" T. Doggett, age 71, of Springfield, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Bill was born on October 23, 1941 to the late Robert and Hazel (Anderson) Doggett in Greene County. He graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1959 then married the love of his life, Ruth Schilliger. Together, they had 3 successful children; Timothy (Tracy) Doggett of St. Charles MO, Terry (Robyn) Doggett of Chatham, VA, and Lori (David) Cochran of Springfield. Bill worked for 46 years at Navistar until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing whenever he could, and mushroom hunting. He and his wife also attended the Christian Fellowship Church in Springfield. Along with his wife and children, Bill is also survived by 2 brothers; Bob and Ted; as well as 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sue. "Live one day at a time", he would say frequently; a motto he would encourage everyone to live by. Bill will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 6-8pm at the JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:30am also at the funeral home. Friends are welcome to visit with the family starting at 10am on Friday. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in N. Lewisburg. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
