XENIA — Clifford Harold Sargent, 78, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born June 11, 1936, in Blaze, Kentucky, the son of Jessie and Deffie Hoskinson Sargent. He attended Shawnee Hills Baptist Church, and was a New Jasper Township Fire Department volunteer for 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cozetta (Sargent) Sargent, whom he married, April 4, 1957, a daughter, Janice Jones, two sons, Gordon (Jeannie) Sargent, and Denny Sargent, all of Jamestown, granddaughters, Jessica (Keith) Jones, Wilmington, Erica (David) Ferguson, Hebron, KY, and Meghan (Dugan) Wood, Southaven, MS, grandsons, Tom (Abbey) Jones, Bowling Green, Levi (Megan) Sargent, Jason Midlam and Garrett Sargent, all of Jamestown, six great-grandchildren, sisters, Francis (Waymon) Musicks, Mansfield, Brenda (Richard) Damron, Martinsville, Jane (Gene) Dunbaugh, Mount Gilead, and Sharon Roberts, Willard, OH, brothers, Jim (Judy) Lewis, Shelby, Steve (Judy) Lewis, Attica, and Tony Lewis, Milan, OH, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close family and friends, including special friends, Jennifer Benson, Kim Sargent, Sarah Midlam, and Tom Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, Winford Lewis, and by two sisters, Evelyn Hopkins and Cozetta Adkins. Harold will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 11am, Friday, June 27, at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 9:30am Friday, until service time at the church. Burial will be in Silvercreek Township Cemetery, Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shawnee Hills Baptist Church, 3490 Jasper Rd., Jamestown, OH, 45385, or to the Miami Valley Jamestown Emergency Center, 4940 Cottonville Rd., Jamestown, OH, 45335, in his memory.
