Allen Dalton

Allen Dalton, age 91 of Fairborn, left this life on Saturday March 9, 2013. He was born June 7, 1921 in Morgan Co., Kentucky, the son of the late Newt and Dora (Lawson) Dalton. He is survived by ten children, Bendalé (George) Wolf, Mary Mowery, Barry (Clarice) Dalton, Allie Young, Bob (Catherine) Dalton, George (Carolyn) Dalton, David (Sandy) Dalton, Philip (Sheila) Dalton, Marti (Larry) Knapp, Kendra (Ron) Eifert; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Louise (Liming) Dalton; sons-in-laws, Dallas Mowery, Chuck Young; four brothers, Othea, Cecil, George, William; two sisters, Anne, Nancy; a great-grandson; and a great great-granddaughter. Allen was raised in Pomp, Morgan Co., Kentucky and at 16 years of age relocated to Goes Station in the Yellow Springs area with his mother, father, and brother, William. He served his country in the European Theater with the US Army during World War II; and was employed at many different jobs from farmhand to railroad worker to general laborer; retiring from General Motors after 32 years of service. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved sharing stories with family and friends. Allen was a devoted, born again Christian and became an ordained minister in the Freewill Pentecostal Church of God. He served his Lord in many capacities and his passion for his faith as well as his enjoyment of family and friends will be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Thursday March 14, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Friday March 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Silas Hoskins officiating.
