Dana Earl Dennehy, age 61, of Xenia, passed away November 13, 2013 at Ohio State University Medical Center. He was born the son of Gene and Hester (Taylor) Dennehy in Xenia, Ohio on January 19, 1952.
He was retired from the Greene County Sanitation Dept. and had previously worked with Conrail Railroad. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He will be remembered as a happy man who loved to joke. He loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dana is survived by his wife, Trina Dennehy; children: Derek Dennehy of Xenia and Heather Dennehy of Fairborn; step-children: Stephanie (Thomas) Barker of Beavercreek; Nicole Hall of Xenia and Anthony Hall of Beavercreek; sister: Vicki (Richard) Barley of Xenia; twin brother: David (Mary) Dennehy of Urbana; grandchildren: Deacon, Lorelai, Kiyah, Kross, Christian, Kassidy, Kyley, and Rowan; the mother of his children, Virginia Dennehy of Xenia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7 PM Monday, November 18, 2013 at the McColaugh Funeral Home Inc. 826 N. Detroit St. Xenia, Ohio 45385. Friends may call Monday from 5 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
