XENIA — Edna G. Kyne, who recently turned 100, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at her rural home near Xenia. She was born February 21, 1914, in Greene County, Ohio. She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church. She was the youngest of the five children of Edwin and Effie (Brown) Voorhees and became the devoted wife of, Paul T. Kyne, farmer and township trustee, and the loving mother of Laurence T. Kyne , retired psychologist, Berkeley, CA, and Max, and wife Cara Miller, of Spring Valley, and a dear friend of the late Kathryn Rohler and Connie Atkinson of Xenia. She is survived by a granddaughter, Beth Miller, by nephews Neal Mathews and Bill Phillips, by nieces Neva (Dean) Chambliss, Helen (Phillips) Stephens, and Patricia (Phillips) Baader, by grand and great-grand nephews and nieces, and by her companion and caretaker, David Jansen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul T. Kyne, a brother, Charles Voorhees, and by three sisters, Marie (Voorhees) Dean, Helen (Voorhees) Phillips and Eleanor (Voorhees) Matthews. Graveside services will be held at 10am, Thursday, March 20, at Spring Valley Cemetery, with Rev. John Lockwood officiating. There will be no visitation.
