Edward Kingsolver

XENIA — Edward Kingsolver, 79, of Peebles, Ohio, formerly of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2013 at Highland District Hospital, Hillsboro, Ohio. He was born in Morristown, Tenn., Oct. 31, 1934. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia (Reed) Kingsolver, his parents Pierce and Redda (Orreck) Kingsolver, brother Vernard Kingsolver, sisters Edna (Kingsolver) Young and Mazel (Kingsolver) Cline. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Mark) Trout of Peebles, sons Billy (Debbie) Kingsolver and Eddie (Linda) Kingsolver of Xenia, Jimmy (Belle) Kingsolver of Yellow Springs, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Brothers, Willis Kingsolver of Nevada, Bill (Goldie) Kingsolver of Jeffersonville, Jack (Connie) Kingsolver of Jamestown and sister Charlene Davis of Xenia. Ed was an Army Veteran who served three years in Germany. He was a carpenter by trade for many years. Over the years he became a father figure to many. He was known as grandpa by most of the children around him. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Powers Funeral Home, 12 N. Limestone St., Jamestown, Ohio 45335. Pastor Phil Fulton officiating. Visitation 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., funeral to follow at 1 p.m., burial will be at Silvercreek Township Cemetery in Jamestown.
