Kenneth Irvin Boggs

XENIA Kenneth Irvin Boggs, 86, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Hospitality Home East. He was born July 25, 1926, in Letcher County, Kentucky, the son of Irvin and Louanna Shepherd Boggs. He was a graduate of Whitesburg High School, KY, and the Spartan School of Aeronautics, Tulsa, OK. He was a member of Memorial United Presbyterian Church, and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He retired from WPAFB. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Hopping) Boggs, whom he married, April 18, 1952, two daughters and a son-in-law, Julie (Tony) Willis, and Jennifer Boggs, all of Jamestown, a son and daughter-in-law, Roger (Jill) Boggs, Beavercreek, five grandchildren, Wendy (Nick) Bottorff, Marty (Leeann) Willis, Nicholas Boggs, Bradley Boggs, and Matthew Boggs, three great-grandchildren, Cameron Bottorff, Abby Bottorff, and Brody Bottorff, a sister, Nancy Lou Holler, Dayton, a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne (Brenda) Boggs, Centerville, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Alice) Hopping, Bellbrook, Irene Boggs, Florida, and Jack Williams, New Lebanon, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Hazel Williams, a brother, Herschel Boggs, and by a brother-in-law, Frank Holler. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10am, Monday, July 29, 2013, at Memorial United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Kelley W. Shin officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Sunday, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
