Margaret C. O'Brien, age 86, of Xenia, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at Greene Oaks Care Center. She was born December 6, 1926, in Xenia, the daughter of Leo and Helen Fletcher Murray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. O'Brien in 1954; son: Patrick M. O'Brien; sisters: Anastasia Murray and Mary Murray; and brother: Edward Murray.
Margaret was retired from the City of Xenia, where she had been employed as the Finance Office Assistant. She was a volunteer for the Xenia FISH Pantry; active at St. Brigid Parish and was a volunteer with their school library. She enjoyed the Xenia Adult Recreation Center where she participated in country line dancing and loved to travel. She was a caring grandmother and enjoyed attending their various school and sports activities.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Kevin R.and Becky O'Brien of Xenia; grandchildren: Patrick O'Brien, PhD of Denver, CO and Erin O'Brien of Nashville, TN; sister: Helen Davey of Tucson, AZ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 312 Fairground Road, Xenia, with Rev. John E. Krumm officiating. Interment to follow in St. Brigid Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday at McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Xenia Area FISH Food Pantry, 541 Ledbetter Road, Xenia in Margaret's memory.
